A burden from God was placed on Rev. Lonnie Mitchell toward the end of 1985 to start a church in the south Dayton area. In the beginning of 1986, this God-given desire was fulfilled. The Miamisburg Full Gospel Tabernacle was established and had its first service on January 25, 1986. In 1991, the church added a fellowship hall on the back of the existing building. In 2003, the church was able to purchase land and build a new fellowship hall behind the current church building. This dramatically increased the parking area and allowed for much larger social gatherings. A large project to combine the old fellowship hall and sanctuary was then completed. This allowed the church sanctuary to increase its capacity immensely.
